As per the latest update from the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Milton has intensified to a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 90 mph. The storm is currently positioned approximately 40 miles south-southwest of Orlando and is moving in an east-northeast direction at a speed of 16 mph.
Reports from Orlando International Airport indicate that the area experienced a gust of 74 mph around midnight, with sustained winds ranging between 40 to 45 mph. The city is currently facing the brunt of heavy rainfall and strong winds as Hurricane Milton continues its path across the region.
