The National Weather Service issued a warning on Thursday morning regarding the potential catastrophic impact of Hurricane Helene. The forecast predicts that the storm's powerful winds could result in widespread power outages that may last for days or even weeks in areas near its landfall.

The NWS emphasized that the destructive winds could cause severe damage to trees, power lines, and well-built structures. Additionally, the storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall, leading to both flash flooding and riverine flooding.
