As Hurricane Helene approaches the state of Florida, wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph are currently battering much of the Florida Keys. The hurricane, located about 350 miles southwest of Tampa, is already making its presence felt with its wide-reaching winds.
The tropical storm-force sustained winds of Hurricane Helene extend nearly 350 miles from its center, with gusts reaching even farther. A recent wind gust of 45 mph was recorded at a weather reporting station near the coast just south of Naples.
