The storm's center is currently positioned approximately 20 miles southeast of Matagorda, Texas, and is moving northwest at a speed of 10 mph.
The National Hurricane Center has issued warnings about deteriorating conditions, including the presence of dangerous storm surge and flash flooding in the area. Reports have already confirmed sustained tropical-storm-force winds and gusts of hurricane-force winds along the coast.
