The 2022/23 AIB Hurling Club Team of the Year has been announced, with All-Ireland champions Ballyhale Shamrocks scooping eight awards.
Dunloy, who they beat in the final to win a record-extending eighth title, have three positions with the team completed by four players from last year’s All-Ireland champions and this year’s beaten semi-finals, Ballygunner.
Ballyhale pair Joey Holden and Adrian Mullen have also been nominated for the Player of the Year award along with Ballygunner goalkeeper Stephen O’Keeffe.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony at Croke Park this coming Friday, when the Player of the Year will be revealed.
O’Keeffe earned the goalkeeping position on the team but Ballyhale are represented on every line thereafter with Holden anchoring the full-back line alongside clubmate Killian Corcoran and Dunloy’s Ryan McGarry, with Ballyhale’s Richie Reid flanked by Kevin Molloy (Dunloy) and Darragh Corcoran (Ballyhale) on the half-back line.
Mullen partners Ballygunner’s Conor Sheahan at midfield while Reid’s brother TJ leads the attack at centre-forward with his club and county teammate Eoin Cody on the right wing and Pauric Mahony of Ballygunner, who recently retired from Waterford duty, on the left.
The full-forward line is made up of Dunloy’s Conal Cunning, Ballyhale’s Colin Fennelly and Ballygunner sharpshooter Patrick Fitzgerald, who had an excellent first season in adult club hurling.
