A man accused of a mass stabbing on a train in Cambridgeshire and a string of separate attacks has pleaded not guilty to charges and is due to stand trial later this year.
Anthony Williams, 33, denies 10 counts of attempted murder after several people were stabbed on an LNER train from Doncaster to London on November 1 last year.
Appearing by video-link at Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday, Williams entered pleas of not guilty to a total of 21 charges in turn.
He denied assault occasioning actual bodily harm over an alleged attack on a male police officer in custody on November 2.
He also pleaded not guilty to possession of a bladed article on a train between Peterborough and Huntingdon on November 1.
Williams denied one count of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article over an incident at Pontoon Dock DLR station in London in the early hours of November 1, where a victim suffered facial injuries after being attacked with a knife.
He also pleaded not guilty to the attempted murders of a 14-year-old boy, a 22-year-old man, and a 28-year-old man in Peterborough on October 31.
He also denied affray at a barbershop in Peterborough on October 31 and the theft of a pack of knives from an Asda store in Stevenage on October 31.
He pleaded not guilty to the assault of a man on a King’s Cross to Peterborough train on November 1.
He also denied possessing a bladed article in a public place at a footbridge near Henry Penn Walk, the Rail World car park and Queen’s Walk in Peterborough on October 31.
Judge Mark Bishop remanded Williams in custody until his trial.
He told the defendant: “You’ve pleaded not guilty and so there will be a trial which will take place on October 26.”
He instructed that a further case management hearing will take place on October 2.
