Hunter Biden's Federal Gun Trial Set To Begin In Delaware

U.S. President Biden's son Hunter Biden is pictured in Delaware

Hunter Biden's federal gun trial is scheduled to commence tomorrow in Delaware, where he faces three felony charges linked to his firearm purchase while providing false information about his drug use. Special counsel David Weiss's team has indicated their intention to present Hunter Biden's laptop as evidence during the trial, citing it as containing substantial proof of the defendant's guilt.

Prior to the 2020 election, 51 former intelligence officials signed a letter suggesting that the laptop bore characteristics of Russian disinformation. Additionally, Congressman Adam Schiff had propagated the idea that the laptop was part of a Russian propaganda effort. However, these claims were refuted by the then Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, who stated that there was no intelligence supporting the notion of Russian involvement in the laptop's contents.

John Ratcliffe, the former Director of National Intelligence and U.S. Attorney, expressed his views on the recent developments, labeling the trial outcome as rigged and biased against President Trump. Ratcliffe criticized the prosecutor, Alvin Bragg, for charging federal election laws as a state predicate crime, a move unprecedented in the country's legal history. He also highlighted the judge's alleged bias against Trump and the unconventional jury instructions that allowed for a non-unanimous guilty verdict.

Ratcliffe condemned the trial as an unconstitutional charade that deprived Trump of his right to appeal effectively. He emphasized the lack of clarity regarding the underlying predicate crime for which Trump was convicted, questioning the legitimacy of the entire legal process. Despite the attempts to tarnish Trump's image, Ratcliffe suggested that the American public remained skeptical of the trial's fairness and perceived it as a rigged attempt to label the former president as a convicted felon.
