U.S. Attorney David Weiss announced today that Hunter Biden has been convicted of two counts related to lying on a form submitted to a federal firearms dealer and possessing a firearm while being a user or addict of crack cocaine. The prosecution emphasized two key themes during the trial - the defendant's illegal choices and the importance of upholding the rule of law.

The case highlighted Hunter Biden's illegal actions while struggling with addiction, focusing on his decision to provide false information on a government form when purchasing a gun and subsequently possessing that firearm. The prosecution underscored the dangerous combination of guns and drugs in Hunter Biden's conduct.

Weiss stressed that no individual is above the law, emphasizing that accountability is essential for all citizens, including Hunter Biden. The prosecution remains committed to upholding the principles of federal prosecution and ensuring that justice is served.

The jury, consisting of fifteen Delawareans, was commended for their dedicated service throughout the trial. Weiss expressed gratitude towards the special counsel team, acknowledging their tireless efforts in litigating various issues across district and appellate courts on both coasts.

Furthermore, Weiss thanked Attorney General Garland for providing the necessary support to carry out their mission effectively and independently. He refrained from entertaining questions at the moment, citing ongoing trials and investigative work that require their attention.

The conviction of Hunter Biden marks a significant development in the case, underscoring the importance of upholding the law and holding individuals accountable for their actions.
