A man has been charged after a burglary of a jeweller’s in Shepherd’s Bush in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The incident was described by the Metropolitan Police as a “smash and grab raid” in which “high-value jewellery” was taken.

Police were called to the jeweller’s in Uxbridge Road, west London, at 3:31 am to reports that robbers were using tools to smash through security shutters, before stealing high-value jewellery.

Officers arrived at the jewellers within minutes. They detained one man at the scene, and he was taken into custody.

Jason Daley, 33, of Priory Park Road, Brent, was charged with burglary and criminal damage.
