Hunt for driver who hit child, 4, with car then fled in Leeds

Police have launched a manhunt after a four-year-old child was hit by a car in Leeds and seriously injured.

West Yorkshire Police (WYP) want to speak to the man pictured after the child was hit by a black Seat Leon in Copperfield Grove. The four year old was seriously injured and was rushed to hospital after being hit by the Seat on October 2.

They were discharged from hospital a day later. A spokesperson for WYP said the force believes the driver did not stop at the scene.

They added: "Enquiries suggest that the male pictured may have information which could assist with the ongoing investigation." According to WYP, tireless enquiries have been ongoing by the Leeds Roads Policing Unit to identify the driver of the car.

The team is now releasing the CCTV image in the hope that someone will recognise the man pictured. Anyone who can help the force should call 101, quoting log number 13220543049.
