Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has defended plans to increase duty on Scotch whisky, despite the industry saying the rise announced in the Budget breaks a previous commitment made by the UK Government.

Mark Kent, chief executive of the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA), is demanding an urgent meeting with the Chancellor to discuss the impact of the changes.
