Hungarians flock to polls in vote overshadowed by Ukraine war as Orban seeks new term

The party of nationalist Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has taken the lead in partial results from the country's general election on Sunday, the national election office said.

With 63 percent of the votes counted, Orban's Fidesz party had gained 55.16 percent of the vote versus 33.09 percent for the six-party opposition coalition in the national party list vote which determines 93 seats out of the 199-seat chamber.
