Hundreds of homes and businesses in Bury have been hit by a power cut. Electricity North West say 644 homes in the Elton area are without electricity tonight.
It's been caused by an 'unexpected incident' on a high voltage cable, the firm says. A statement on the Electricity North West website says power is expected to be restored just after 9pm.

It adds: "This power cut has been caused by an unexpected incident on the high voltage cable that provides electricity to your home or business. We didn't know before your electricity went off that this was going to happen but now we know, rest assured we will get your power back on safely and as quickly as possible."
The firm tweeted: "We are aware of an incident in BL8. This is impacting 644 customers. If you are without power, please DM us with your full address and contact number so we can keep you updated."
Residents have been tweeting about the outage. Emma Weatherhead posted: "Not sure what's worse, freezer full of ice cream melting or floor fan not working! Bloody power cut in Bury perfect timing." Stuart Anderson tweeted: "38 degrees outside and now we have a power cut in Bury."
