Hundreds of families have applied for a rent-free home on the Aran Islands for a year - despite there being a major catch.
The house being offered is on the Irish-speaking island of Inis Meáin, the middle of the three islands off the west coast of Ireland, which has a population of under 200.
So far, there has been an overwhelming response to the advert of free accommodation for one year with over 560 applicants for the single slot in just over two weeks, according to Galway Beo.
