Two major green energy events will come together on the Humber in 2023.
Offshore Wind Connections, which marks a decade of charting the incredible green journey for the region, will be joined by the annual celebration that is the Humber Renewables Awards.
The unification of the calendar highlights in May was announced as part of the inaugural return flight between the Danish industry hub of Esbjerg and Humberside Airport, another key milestone for the sector when it comes to connectivity. The Eastern Airways captain revealed the news as he headed back across the North Sea, taking in the estuary's activity from the air before touching down.

Humber Marine and Renewables, the entity resulting from the merged Team Humber Marine Alliance and Grimsby Renewables Partnership member organisations, is behind the regional conference that has international appeal. Held over two days, an evening reception precedes the conference proper, with exhibition stands from core operators and key supply chains adding to the event.
Now immediately following it, will be the Humber Renewables Awards, with successes from small to world-leading, individual to international, recognised. Reach Plc, publisher of Business Live as well as the Hull Daily Mail, Grimsby Telegraph and Scunthorpe Telegraph news brands, is behind the event, entering its 11th year.
Andrew Oliver, chair of Humber Marine and Renewables, said: “We are delighted to be working with Reach Plc to celebrate Offshore Wind Connections 2023 in its 10th year and also the inaugural event under the Humber Marine and Renewables banner! Please do join us to mark this great occasion.”
Having been held at Bridlington Spa and Forest Pines Hotel at Broughton, near Scunthorpe, respectively in 2022, they will convene in Hull, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, on May 3 and May 4.
David Laister, Reach Plc’s business editor for the Humber, said: “Team Humber Marine Alliance and Grimsby Renewables Partnership were real supporters of the awards for many years. Seeing them unite this year, to become Humber Marine and Renewables and now connecting with them for OWC and the awards, makes for a really strong statement event from the heart of the sector.”
Further details will emerge in the new year, with Mary Green, operations manager at Humber Marine and Renewables leading on Offshore Wind Connections conference and Tom Austin, account director for Reach Plc, on Humber Renewables Awards.
