NEW DELHI: The AI industry is confronting an unusual contradiction. Some of its most powerful leaders, including Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Elon Musk, are warning that the race to develop increasingly capable AI may be moving too quickly, and could eventually put humanity at risk. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has also backed stronger human control and independent evaluation of advanced AI systems.
