NEW DELHI: Cricket Australia (CA) chief executive Nick Hockley on Friday defended the Australian men's team's decision to withdraw from one-day international (ODI) series against Afghanistan. CA took the unilateral decision on Thursday over women's rights issue but faced sharp criticism for the withdrawal.
Australia opted out of the three-match series, scheduled for March in the United Arab Emirates, citing further restrictions by the Taliban on women's and girls' education and employment opportunities.
