Human remains that were found in south Dublin have been confirmed as John Courtney who went missing in April.
The discovery was made on Stillorgan Road in June and the remains have now been confirmed to be John. The 64-year-old had disappeared from Donnybrook on April 26.
Gardai have stood down their missing person search following the results of the DNA analysis by Forensic Science Ireland. A garda spokeswoman said: "An Garda Síochána would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter. No further action is required."
