In unfortunate news for fans of Sarah J. Maas's beloved book series 'A Court of Thorns and Roses,' Hulu's TV adaptation of the romantasy novels has been officially canceled. Variety has confirmed that the project, which had been in development at the Disney-owned streaming platform since March 2021, will not be pursued further and is not being shopped to other networks or platforms by its studio, 20th Television, also owned by Disney.
The 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' (referred to as 'ACOTAR' by its dedicated fanbase) TV series had generated a lot of excitement among fans who were eager to see Maas's enchanting world come to life on screen. The author herself was involved in the project, working on the series scripts alongside the accomplished creator of 'Outlander,' Ronald D. Moore.
