Aussie stand-off Brad Schneider can't wait to "rip in" for Hull KR after completing a mid-season move from Canberra Raiders.
The East Yorkshire club has snapped up the talented playmaker on a deal until the end of the season. Rovers have needed to strengthen after England international Jordan Abdull suffered a long-term hamstring injury against Catalans last month. And Schneider, 22, is looking to make the most of his chance with Willie Peters' side.
He said: "I’m excited to get over there and rip in. I had a chat to Willie and the one thing that stood out to me the most was how much he wanted me there. As a player, the confidence that gives me, it’s a wonderful feeling.”
Adelaide-born Schneider made his NRL debut for Canberra off the bench against Melbourne Storm in 2021, his only appearance that season. He clocked up ten games for Ricky Stuart's side last term, scoring one try, but only appeared once this time around, starting at stand-off in the win over Brisbane Broncos in April.
Schneider, who is a German international, will arrive in the UK later this week and could potentially make his debut at Leeds Rhinos on July 14.
Peters said: "It’s a really positive signing for the club at this stage of the season. Brad’s going to give us some much needed depth in the halves: he’s a talented young player who works hard, and that’s what we want at this club.”
