Hugo Ekitike was stretchered off during Liverpool's Champions League quarter-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain with a suspected Achilles injury.
The 23-year-old Frenchman's injury has raised significant concerns about his potential participation in France's World Cup squad this summer.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot and teammate Ibrahima Konate both expressed worry over the severity of Ekitike's injury after the match.
Ekitike, who was making his first start alongside fellow summer signings Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, was replaced by Mohamed Salah as Liverpool lost 2-0 on the night and 4-0 on aggregate.
Paris Saint-Germain also suffered first-half injury setbacks, with Nuno Mendes and Desire Doue both forced off during the match.
