Kannur district, which is hosting various events organised as part of the first anniversary celebration of the second Left Democratic Front (LDF) government and the 23rd party congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)], is witnessing the unprecedented arrival of large groups of people.
The town is flooded with people and vehicles, leaving most roads and tourist destinations choked. For visitors, it has become tough to get accommodation as there are hardly any rooms left in hotels and resorts. Most rooms are occupied till the last day of the party congress on Sunday.
