Huge queues of people have snaked out of a city centre Post Office for "two weeks straight".
People in Liverpool have been asking what is causing the queues outside the Lewis' building, on Lime Street, over the last fortnight. The ECHO attended the Post Office and spoke to people in the queue to find out what was attracting such big crowds.
Those in the queue said they are waiting to pick up their Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). This identification card allows students with approved visas to study and work in the UK for more than six months. People have been seen queuing Monday to Friday, 9 am-4 pm and Saturday 9 am-11 am for the last two weeks.

One University of Liverpool student said: "I am queuing to pick up my BRP so I can study. I am doing my Master's and this will let me work for two years after studying so I can get a job. I only have 90 days to get it so I have to pick it up now."
A Post Office worker said the queue, which stretches back past the Watson Building to the top of Newington, has been like this for 'two weeks straight'. Students can apply online and pick up their identification card when it arrives at the Post Office.
The card shows people's personal details including their name, date, place of birth and biometric information such as facial images and fingerprints. The card also shows their immigration status and entitlements while they are in the UK.
The permit can be a valid for maximum of 10 years. International citizens have a 90-day window which is issued if they apply for entry clearance for permission of more than six months.
They must use this 90-day window to enter the UK and collect a BRP. They must not enter the UK earlier than the first date of the 90-day period and must collect their permits by the end.
