Plans have been submitted for a new 220-home village in Edinburgh that could be given the green light by officials.
A proposal of application notice was filed with the city council this week for the major construction which could take place on the boundary between Edinburgh and East Lothian.
Located north of 14 Glennie Road at Newcraighall, the currently empty land has been earmarked for the new development.

Running adjacent to the main east coast trainline and situated next to Queen Margaret University, developers have stated that the site would contain both houses and blocks of flats.
Sitting at an estimated “220 units”, the development would see a mix of “one-two and three bedroom colony flats.”
In addition, the site would also see a selection of three, four and five bedroom townhouses erected - with all properties boasting parking.

Bicycle storage would also be provided on site, as well as refuge stores and open green spaces for residents to enjoy.
Although an official planning application is yet to be submitted, a public consultation on the project is planned for January 11 2023, with residents invited to attend the Craigmillar Now building from 4pm until 8pm to share their thoughts.
