If you've visited the huge Primark at Trafford Palazzo recently, you may have seen a rather distinctive pink building taking shape in the terrace space right next to it. And those large pink arches and sparkly signs represent the first north west branch of hit London cake cafe EL&N.
EL&N, which stands for Eat, Live, and Nourish, is renowned for "creating products centred around living a stylish life in a stunning setting". Other branches feature Instagrammable all-pink booths, flamboyant floral walls and bright neon signs all aimed at "encouraging a positive ethos to nourish the soul".
The new Greater Manchester site is fast taking shape at Trafford Palazzo, the shopping mall formerly known as Barton Square next to the Trafford Centre. Bosses say the new cafe is due to open within the next month, just in time for Easter.

A sparkling pink sign on the site says: "All you need is Love... and Coffee". Meanwhile the brand's distinctive EL&N logo sits on the roof in large pink letters.
Trafford Palazzo owners Peel L&P confirmed earlier this month that it had agreed a lease to bring EL&N to its Trafford City development. It is one of EL&N’s first ventures based in the north of England which will see the international brand occupy a 200sqm site within the grand Italian mall space, right oppposite Primark.
The brand was first launched in Mayfair, London in 2017 and has since been established as a leading cafe and lifestyle brand with flower walls, pink interiors and an eye-catching menu offering which encourage customers to create picture perfect moments. It has since expanded with branches in cities including Edinburgh, Paris, Milan and Dubai.
Mark Whittaker, Executive Director - Property Investment & Management at Peel L&P, said: "This is an extremely exciting announcement and will elevate the offering even further at Trafford Palazzo. EL&N is exactly the type of operator we are looking to attract, a forward thinking, unique brand that will complement the centre and add to the experience we are fostering within the space."
Alexandra Miller, Founder of EL&N said: "We are thrilled to announce our very first opening in Manchester at Trafford Palazzo. This location in particular is iconic, and we can't wait to bring our unique offering to the diners of Manchester.
"The store design ties in all the classic EL&N interior elements along with some fresh new Instagram moments that we've never done before, Manchester, you're in for a real treat!”
EL&N will join other flagship occupiers opening this year at Trafford Palazzo, including NERF Action Experience, fast-food favourite Archies, and state of the art bowling alley King Pins. That will sit alongside the existing family attractions of Legoland and SeaLife Trafford.
Since Peel L&P acquired Trafford Palazzo, it says it has introduced a new placemaking and lettings strategy which has attracted several leading brands to add to the "diverse experiences and adventures within Trafford City".
