Firefighters battled to bring a huge blaze in Gateshead under control on Thursday night after a number of vehicles caught fire on an industrial estate.
Crews were called to an industrial estate in Ryton, near the Stargate roundabout, at around 7pm on Thursday, September 15. A number of vehicles were on fire in the garage with the blaze sending plumes of thick black smoke into the sky that could be seen for miles.
Firefighters from Swalwell and West Denton managed to bring the fire under control before leaving the scene at 8.04pm.

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that no-one was injured and they do not believe the fire was started deliberately at this stage.
A Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said "Last night (Thursday, September 15) just before 7pm we received a call about a fire at an industrial estate in Ryton.
"Three appliances, one from Swalwell Community Fire Station and two from West Denton, were on the scene in a matter of minutes to begin bringing the blaze under control. Upon arrival, it was clear that a number of vehicles were on fire in the garage but, thankfully, no-one was injured.
"The fire was extinguished and our crews left the scene at 8.04pm. At this stage, it is not believed to have been started deliberately."
