Concerns for the safety of a teenage girl has sparked a huge emergency services response at a dam.
Merseyside Police has confirmed emergency services are responding to a concern for safety at Carr Mill Dam, on Garswood Old Road, St Helens. Officers were called at around 12.30pm today, Thursday, June 1 following reports of a concern for safety of a teenage girl.
A spokesperson for the force told the ECHO: "This incident is ongoing, and we ask people to avoid the area while we deal with this incident and thank you for your patience."

The local Toby Carvery restaurant confirmed to the ECHO there was a significant police response. Officers told staff at the restaurant not to let customers out to the back near the water.
Photos taken at the scene by the ECHO showed police have cordoned off part of the car park near the restaurant. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are also in attendance.
