A man has been found unresponsive outside a Leeds city centre pub, prompting a huge emergency response.
West Yorkshire Police were called to the pub on Kirkgate following an incident on Saturday afternoon. The man was found unconscious at the scene. Three people have since been arrested.
The incident and police response led to a cordon and delays in traffic. The man was taken to hospital and his condition is said to be critical.
A police spokesman said: "At 2.09pm today, police attended an incident at The Regent pub, in Kirkgate, in Leeds city centre. A man was found unresponsive and was given emergency treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.
"Three men have been arrested in connection with the incident. A scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing led by detectives from Leeds District CID.”
The incident caused several delays, especially on First Bus which announced a number of delays on Twitter. The bus services that were impacted and forced to divert were the 4, 4F, 14, 16, 19, 19A, and 40 buses, which were made to divert via St Peters Street, Eastgate and Vicar Lane in both directions.
Other services experienced delays of up to half and hour. And these included the following:
