As the summer holidays approach, there are lots of great activities to enjoy in Wales including the return of the dinosaurs to Bute Park. Taking over the park again will be more than 40 moving and roaring dinosaurs.
Visitors will be able to explore the twisting and turning woodland trail, help the palaeontologist to find his missing tools and hear all about a brand new discovery of a 10-metre prehistoric marine reptile, The Rutland Ichthyosaur. They can also explore what it would be like to be a paleontologist and discover fascinating fossils, design their own dinosaur and watch them come alive, enjoy mini dino golf and a bounce on Dino Kingdom.
The dinosaurs will be in Bute Park from Thursday, August 17 to Sunday, September 3. The trail will be open from 10am to 7pm and tickets cost £9.59 for children aged over three and adults, £7.19 for concessionaries, £36.21 for a family ticket of four and children aged under three go free. You can book your tickets here.

You can take your own picnic or enjoy food from the food court. In 2021 the dinosaurs on display included a fearsome 18m tall T-Rex that breathed and swang its tail as it hunted for prey, pterosaurs that screeched as they soared through the trees; a 15m tall brachiosaurus guarding her eggs and a 16m long diplodocus, who cried out to passers-by.
Next to each spectacular dinosaur model you will find a plaque with key information. You can book a quiet session on the last Thursday of the event if you have noise-sensitive members in your group.
The 40 life-sized, realistic animatronic dinosaurs from the Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous periods move their heads, jaws, and claws and hiss, snarl, and growl, to provide an exhilarating and truly immersive experience.
