A huge cinema event is returning to Lush's city centre store next month.
High street retailer Lush is known and loved for its extensive array of cruelty free beauty and lifestyle products, with its Church Street store here in Liverpool the biggest in the world. For the second time, the popular brand is teaming up with Cinema in the City, presented by FACT, to offer locals and tourists alike a unique cinema experience.
Cinema in The City brings the best independent cinema to hidden or unexpected locations across Liverpool, with the aim of showcasing emerging talent from local filmmakers alongside food and drink from local traders. Previous venues include the Cotton Exchange Rooftop Garden and the iconic Lewis’s Building.

The film event will return to the city centre this April, with another weekend of award-winning and unseen contemporary feature films, alongside shorts from emerging filmmakers. Supporting film and local talent is at the heart of FACT and Cinema in The City provides local filmmakers of the future with the exciting opportunity to screen their own short films to an audience of keen cinema-goers prior to each and every screening.
Next month, film fans will also able to enjoy fresh, colourful and authentic flavours from local favourite VietNom, which aims to bring a little bit of Vietnam to the festivities. Its own kitchen and bar is situated a stone's throw away from China Town, where lunch and evening service is available for vegans, vegetarians, pescatarians and meat eaters.
The weekend at Lush will see a selection of shorts from the next generation of filmmakers with with Hav, directed by Eleanor Szydlowska; Three Bull-Mastiffs In A Corner Kitchen, directed by Paul Chambers; and Swallow Your Dreams, directed by Dan Sloan appearing on the big screen before the feature films. Features will comprise, once again, of award-winning and unseen contemporary films, including three time Oscar nominee Flee, two time BAFTA nominee Ali & Ava, and a film never before screened in Liverpool, A Brixton Tale.
Cinema in the City at Lush Liverpool Spa runs from Friday, April 1 to Sunday, April 3. Further dates and announcements on new locations, exciting films and local food and drink traders will be announced throughout the year.
