Two Ayrshire academies will undergo dramatic changes at the top in the coming days and weeks.
Grange Academy head teacher Robert Johnston will retire from the top post at the Kilmarnock school at Easter.
While Loudoun Academy's head teacher, Scott Robertson, will leave his post tomorrow to eventually replace Mr Johnston at Grange Academy.
In a statement issued today, Mr Robertson said his near seven years at Loudoun Academy were the happiest and most enjoyable of his career.
He told parents: "As you will be aware, I will be leaving Loudoun Academy tomorrow after almost seven years at the school.
"These years have without doubt, been the happiest and most enjoyable years of my career.
"It's been a total privilege and honour leading the school and I hope I have served the Loudoun Academy community to the standards our parents and carers strive for.
"Loudoun Academy is such a unique and special school and I'm incredibly sad to be leaving such wonderful children and young people behind.
"Our pupils are the best in the country, 100 per cent, and not a word of bias in there!
"Our pupils are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated, hardworking and professional staff behind them and deserve huge credit for improving the outcomes of our young people.
"l'd like to finish by saying a huge thank you to our parents and carers for the support I have received during the last seven years as above, it's been a pleasure serving this community and I appreciate all the support I have been given. An enormous thank you to our Parent Council who provide both myself and the school unwavering support you really are an outstanding group of people."
Earlier this year, Mr Johnston broke the news to parents that he was leaving the school.
He said that the it had been an honour and privilege to be head teacher at Grange Academy.
Mr Johnston said in January: "As we start back for the new term I find myself in the very surreal position of announcing that this will be my last term as Head Teacher here at Grange Academy.
"After almost 11 years of being a ‘Heidie’ I’ve decided it’s time to go, move on to pastures new and let someone else take over the reins.
"It has been an honour and a privilege to serve as your head teacher and my time here at Grange Academy has been for the most part the happiest of my career. I will finish at the end of March.
"With 12 weeks remaining it’s a bit early to be saying farewell but thank you for your support, advice and encouragement in my time here at Grange. Our young people are second to none and I will miss them greatly when I leave at Easter."
A spokesperson for East Ayrshire Council said in February: "East Ayrshire Council can confirm that Scott Robertson, currently head teacher at Loudoun Academy, has been appointed to the new post of head of Grange Campus following the announcement of the retiral of head teacher of Grange Academy, Robert Johnston.
"The council would like to take this opportunity to wish Mr Johnston, who has held the position of head teacher since August 2014, a very happy and healthy retirement and also to wish Mr Robertson all the very best in this new post."
