A huge blaze which ripped through plastic in a storage unit in Bury is now under control.
Crews worked overnight to tackle the fire which broke out in a single-storey commercial building on Milltown Street in Radcliffe. Eight fire engines were called to the scene, as well as police, paramedics, council officials and the air unit.
A large plume of black smoke could be spotted billowing from the fire, with people from all over Greater Manchester taking to social media to share pictures of the cloud. Residents were urged to keep their windows and doors shut as crews worked at the 'well-alight' building.

In an update issued this morning, the fire service said all fire pockets have now been put out. The large-scale operation has been scaled back and three fire engines remain at the scene.
Crews will now be dampening down hotspots. The fire service said the blaze ripped through a 'large quantity of plastic' inside a storage unit.
It was contained to stop it from spreading further. Pictures taken at the scene this morning showed an area of Milltown Street taped off as firefighters continued to work.
Some smoke could still be seen billowing from the building. In an update posted at 7.30am, Station Manager Paul Vester, in charge at the incident this morning, said: "The swift and professional response of our crews meant that we were able to get on top of this incident quickly and then work throughout the night to bring it under control.
The fire involved a large quantity of plastic in a single-storey detached storage unit, and I want to praise the efforts of our crews who worked in challenging conditions to contain the blaze and prevent any further spread.
"I’d also like to thank our colleagues at GMP, NWAS, Bury Council and the Environment Agency for their support at this incident. This morning our crews are assisting local businesses in gaining access to the site so that they can get back to work as soon as possible.
"Crews will continue their work at the scene today as they damp down any remaining hotspots and ensure the safety of the area."
In an earlier update, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: "Crews remain at the scene of a fire on Milltown Street in Radcliffe, involving a single-storey commercial building. Eight fire engines from stations across the city-region attended the incident, assisted by a hydraulic platform from Oldham, a Command Unit from Atherton, a hose laying lorry from Chadderton, and an air unit and high-volume pump from Stretford.
"GMFRS crews are also being supported at the scene by colleagues from Greater Manchester Police, North West Ambulance Service, and Bury Council. Firefighters have been working hard in challenging conditions to tackle the blaze using ground monitors, handheld jets, hose reels, lighting equipment, and breaking in-gear.
"Crews will continue firefighting operations throughout the night as they work to contain and extinguish the remaining pockets of fire and damp down hotspots.”
