Flames lit up the night sky last night after a huge blaze broke out at an industrial unit. Firefighters rushed to the significant blaze in Worle, Weston-super-Mare at around 8:30pm.
The unit is located within a quarry. Crews from Avonmouth, Portishead, Winscombe, Weston, Bedminster and Cleven fire engines were deployed to the scene and residents were urged to remain indoors and close windows, reports Somerset Live.
A spokesman for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 8.32pm we were called to reports of a fire at Lower Kewstoke Road in Worle. We sent two fire engines to the scene.

The spokesman added that the wind is blowing in a westerly direction and has urged residents living to the west of the site to remain indoors and to keep windows closed. The spokesman also said there is no need for residents to worry and added that the fire is currently contained within the site.
Taking to Facebook, one local said the blaze had turned the sky "bright red" over North Worle. A number of other residents have reported a lot of smoke in the area.
