A woman in her 50s has been released without charge after being arrested following the discovery of a huge amount of MDMA by gardai in Kildare.
The drug in crystal and pill form is estimated to be worth €82,000 and weighed 1.37kgs. The seizure took place in a residential premises in the Athy area of Kildare.
Gardai confirmed on Tuesday evening that the woman arrested had been released without charge and a file was being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A Revenue spokeswoman said: "Today, as part of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 1.37kgs of MDMA with an estimated value of €82,000 following the search, under warrant, of a residential premises in the Athy area of County Kildare.

"The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Kildare District Drugs Unit and Kildare District Detective Unit.
"A woman in her 50s was arrested by An Garda Síochána in connection with this seizure and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Newbridge Garda Station."
She added that "Investigations are ongoing".
