A 10-day music festival is coming to Knowsley this winter as part of its celebrations as Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture.
At the beginning of the year, Knowsley announced a year-long programme of events, including art, theatre, comedy, dance, food, sport and more. In November, Knowsley Music Festival will take over venues across the borough for 10 days.
The festival, which promises to be an eclectic celebration of all types of music, will feature appearances from some of the famous faces from Knowsley’s music scene. It will also be an opportunity for local up-and-coming performers to showcase their talents.

Knowsley Music Festival will take place from Thursday, November 10 to Saturday, November 19. Venues have yet to be confirmed.
The music programme is being designed by Liverpool-based music consultant Yaw Owusu, who has worked with high profile events and organisations like Universal Records, the MOBOs, MTV and the BBC. He said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be part of Knowsley’s celebrations as the Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture and to be curating such a special musical festival.
“Music is a part of the fabric of the borough and has influenced the musical landscape more than many would know. We hope to really platform that during the music festival and I am excited to share what we have been working on.”.
The full line up for the festival will be announced in the coming weeks. Organisers say there will be something for everyone to enjoy across the borough.
Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley Council Cabinet Member for Communities & Neighbourhoods added: “Music is such a brilliant way to bring people together and this festival will be a really fantastic addition to our end of year programme of events.
“It’s been an amazing year so far for Knowsley and it really would be incomplete if we didn’t take the opportunity to celebrate music too. This borough has been home to so many musical professionals and bands over the years and it will be great to celebrate that - along with also hearing from some of our new and emerging talent. I can’t wait.”
