Leeds United's links with Lewis O'Brien will inevitably intensify following Huddersfield Town's play-off final defeat. The Terriers lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest thanks to an own goal by defender Levi Colwill.
O'Brien, who featured for the whole 90 minutes during his sides defeat has been a continual link for the Whites with the interest reportedly very strong. The 23-year-old has a contract at the John Smith's Stadium until the summer of 2025.
But with Town now set for another season in England's second tier, their defeat on Sunday could perhaps prove vital in Leeds' ongoing pursuit, as they hope to agree a deal before the end of the summer window.

Much has been made of O'Brien's talents. A product of Huddersfield's academy set-up, the midfielder impressed again at Wembley, despite Huddersfield's defeat.
"I think it's only a matter of time before he plays in the Premier League," said fellow teammate Jonathan Hogg earlier this season. "He has a lot of great attributes, his energy and intensity is sensational, up there with the best I've seen in my career."
"He certainly drives the team with his energy and forward runs, it helps the team massively. Lewis is a good lad and he's grounded, down to earth but it's only a matter of time before he does play at the top level."
