Huddersfield Town meltdown provokes 'destroyed' Nottingham Forest message

Nottingham Forest fans have given their reaction to Huddersfield Town’s latest result in the Carabao Cup.

A mini rivalry seems to have developed between the two sets of supporters following tha play-off final back in May. Forest came out as 1-0 winners over the Terriers’ that afternoon thanks to Levi Colwill’s own goal just before the half-time whistle.

That result meant that Forest are playing Premier League football this season, while Huddersfield remain in the Championship. It also means that Huddersfield are taking part in the first round of the Carabao Cup, while Forest enter the competition in the second round.

The Terriers were in action against Preston North End on Tuesday night but quickly found themselves 4-0 down. The game eventually ended 4-1 to Preston, meaning that Huddersfield have lost all three of their games so far this season.

During the game, as the score stacked up, Forest fans couldn’t resist a little dig on social media. Here’s what just some had to say.

Ian Pidgeon : What have we done to Huddersfield #NFFC

David : To think this could of been us... #NFFC

Alistair West : @NFFC have murdered Huddersfield town, what have we done to them #htafc #NFFC

Nffc1969 : We have totally destroyed Huddersfield Town

@nffccry : Isn't it crazy what a pre season can do. Huddersfield so close to promotion last season, getting thumped 3-0 at home to Preston in the cup, they could be heading down to league 1 this season. #htafc #nffc

CB : I actually feel a bit sorry for #htafc, ngl. Talk about reverse fortunes #nffc

Dave : We have ruined Huddersfield #NFFC

Judith : We’ve really messed their club up #nffc #htafc
