HSE urgently recalls two fruit flavoured e-cigarette products over 'serious health risk'

The HSE has issued an urgent recall of two vape products for posing a "serious health risk" as they contain too much nicotine.

The products are the Fantasi Ice Orange and Fantasi Ice Remix Blackcurrant and Lemon, and they were examined by HSE experts. It was discovered that they have a nicotine concentration up to 25.3mg/ml.

In Ireland only 2% or 20mg/ml of nicotine is permitted in vaping products, so these two products are now being recalled. The HSE’s Environmental Health Service’s National Tobacco Control Office issued the RAPEX safety alert notice this week about the e-cigarette products saying they “contain more than the permitted concentration of nicotine and pose a serious risk to public safety”.
