Shane Lowry endured a disappointing final round in Abu Dhabi today as his HSBC Championship tilt faded.
The Offaly native was well in the conversation for the win at ten under par coming into Sunday's finale, tied second behind Scott Jamieson alongside Thomas Pieters ahead of the chasing pack.
But Lowry as well as Jamieson faltered on Sunday at Yas Island Links, with the leader finishing six over far for the day and Lowry carding a five over par day.
Much of the damage was done early in the front nine, with Lowry dropping four shots within eight holes to freefall down the leaderboard.
Lowry ultimately finished five under par for the tournament and tied twelfth but will rue missed chances as Pieters held a level par round to take the win.
