HSBC bank opens 'safe spaces' for those facing domestic abuse

A bank has opened 'safe spaces' across the country to help those facing domestic abuse. HSBC said people could walk into any of its branches to seek support and advice.

It is part of domestic abuse charity Hestia’s "UK says no more" campaign. It was initially started up in pharmacies and, with the aim to increase the availability of specialist support for victims of domestic abuse, has now expanded with the HSBC partnership.

Each branch will provide an area for people to phone a helpline, contact a support service or talk to a friend or family member. Some 4,000 HSBC employees have received specialist training as part of the scheme, reports WalesOnline.
