NEW DELHI: Former India cricketer Hrishikesh Kanitkar has been appointed the batting coach of the women's cricket team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a release on Tuesday announced the appointment of Kanitkar, who will join the team from the upcoming 5-match T20I series against Australia, which starts from December 9 in Mumbai.
The top-order batter Kanitkar, who represented India in 2 Tests and 34 one-dayers has a significant experience in coaching. He has previously coached Goa and Tamil Nadu Ranji teams and was also part of the VVS Laxman-led coaching staff in the recently concluded men's white-ball series in New Zealand.
