How Wrexham can win the league this weekend as Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds fairytale on brink of coming true

The Hollywood fairytale is on the verge of coming true - Wrexham need just one more victory to win the title and seal promotion back to the Football League.

The proud Welsh club will end 14 seasons of non-league football if they beat Boreham Wood at a packed out Racecourse on Saturday on what promises to be an afternoon of Welsh sport full of passion and drama.

Co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are hoping it proves to be one of celebration and joy as well, with Wrexham right on the brink.

They moved four points clear of closest rivals Notts County at the top of the National League with a 3-0 triumph over Yeovil on Tuesday night.

The win put Wrexham on 107 points at the top of the table, four clear of County on 103. Victory over Boreham Wood would take Phil Parkinson's men to an unassailable 110 points landmark, one their Nottingham rivals couldn't match even if they were to win their own remaining games against Maidstone and York.

Even if Wrexham were to slip up this weekend, they would have another chance to seal the title by beating Torquay away in their final game on Saturday April 29.

Spare a thought for poor Notts County. They stand on 103 points and look likely to finish on 109 - yet have been blown away by the incredible consistency of this Wrexham story driven by their famous owners.

While Wrexham get ready to seal the one automatic promotion spot, Notts County look like having to do it via the play-offs.

McElhenney ensured there was more Hollywood glitter at the Racecourse on Tuesday night by attending the win over Yeovil. He was accompanied by his actor wife Kaitlin Olson, as well as Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton.

Those two have starred next to McElhenney and Danny DeVito in 'Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia'. Day plays Charlie Kelly and Howerton is Dennis Reynolds.

Kaitlin plays Deandra Reynolds in the hit Sitcom.
