Tottenham talisman Harry Kane wrote his name into club history with his early goal in their Premier League clash against Manchester City. After just 15 minutes, Kane broke the deadlock against the reigning champions with an instinctive close-range finish which took him to 267 goals, thus breaking Jimmy Greaves' goal record for Spurs.
Kane matched Greaves' tally of 266 at Craven Cottage against Fulham with his strike turning out to be the eventual game-winner. And after being rested for his side's FA Cup win over Preston, he set a new goal scoring record in north London against Pep Guardiola's side.
With Christian Stellini in the dugout, following boss Antonio Conte undergoing surgery in the week and recovering in Italy, Spurs started the brighter and were able take advantage of a City mistake to go in front.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg raced in front of Rico Lewis to intercept a pass and after taking the ball closer to goal, he picked out Kane in the penalty area and he finished clinically.
That goal, which was number 16 in the Premier League this season, saw him surpass Greaves' 266 goals for Spurs and further establish himself as a club legend.
To commemorate the moment, Spurs paid tribute to their star man with a huge message on the four big screens located in each corner of the ground. With Kane's teammates and the home fans in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium celebrating, "congratulations Harry" appeared on the boards followed by "Harry Kane Tottenham all-time record goalscorer".
An image of Kane celebrating multiple different goals by doing his usual goal celebration also appeared on the screens with the number 267 displayed down the side.
