Unfortunately, there's no way to guarantee you get this prize, as it's mostly random and can happen at any point. Although there's no way to guarantee you get an MVP award, there are a few steps you can take to make acquiring one easier.
The first and most essential step is to work hard and train to become the best at your sport you possibly can. This can be done by practicing and training while in your chosen professional sports career, with the goal of getting all your specific sports stats in the green. You'll also want to maintain high Smarts and Health stats throughout your life, as well as regularly working on building the hidden athleticism ability. Tackling activities listed in the Mind & Body category is a great way to manage all three.
While you'll likely be tempted to join the best teams you can while pursuing a professional sports career, for the purposes of this specific quest, you'll want to try to be on the worst team you can. All professional sports teams have a Team Strength bar, so look to join one that has a fairly low strength bar. The worse off your team is, the easier it'll be for you to become the best one on it, thus securing yourself an easy MVP award. You can always move around to a better team later on, but for the purposes of this quest, it's much easier to achieve when the rest of your team isn't all that great.
