How to watch the India vs South Africa T20 World Cup 2024 final online or on TV

India's Suryakumar Yadav in the team's T20 World Cup match against West Indies.

We've reached the end of the 2024 T20 Cricket World Cup, when India and South Africa meet in the final on Saturday, June 29, and we'll help you figure out a way to stream it online or watch it on TV.

Quick links

The India vs South Africa final is going to be a massive event, putting together two of the best cricket teams in the world. Both teams come into the match not having lost once during the T20 World Cup, with SA winning 7 times and India 6 (its group stage match vs Canada was called off, hence it completing fewer matches).

It's been a big and exciting T20 World Cup this year, with its elevated number of teams and new hosts of USA and West Indies bringing loads of new eyes to the series. That's despite the concept of a Super Eight tournament confusing a few people!

This is the ninth T20 World Cup, after the tournament was founded in 2007 in order to contest this popular short-form version of cricket.

The 2024 iteration of the ICC T20 World Cup features 20 teams battling for the trophy, which is four more than we've ever seen in the contest before, and that's handy because there are multiple host countries. Cricket powerhouse West Indies is being joined by the USA to house the tournament, with matches taking place all over the Caribbean and US.

If you want to catch the action, here's how to watch the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup from around the world.

Everything else you need to know about the T20 Cricket World Cup

How does the T20 World Cup Super Eight stage work?

Between the Group Stage and Knockout Round stages of the T20 World Cup is the Super Eight stage, which has confused a lot of people in how it works.

The Super Eight stage is effectively a second, more elite group stage, with two groups of four teams, and each team will play the other three teams in its group with the best two in each proceeding.

Groups were actually picked prior to the start of the T20 World Cup: the eight best teams (as determined by the ICC) were arranged in groups by seed. However if any of these teams didn't make it through the group stage, they were replaced by whichever team beat them to qualify.

This happened in a few cases: United States took Pakistan's place, Afghanistan took New Zealand's and Bangladesh took Sri Lanka's place.

The Super Eight groups are Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh and India in Group 1 and England, South Africa, United States and West Indies in Group 2.
