How to watch the Dopesick TV series in the UK and who is in the cast?

A drama series by the name of Dopesick is now available to watch in the UK. The American show follows the country's opioid epidemic.

The show features an impressive cast and explores painkiller addiction from several different angles. At the centre of the narrative is a drug company accused of hooking America on opioids, with other scenes following families in a Virginia mining community and the USA's Drug Enforcement Administration.

Dopesick highlights the destructive impact of the drug across the US. It promises to be an fascinating watch - regardless of how much or little you already know about the scandal.

How to watch the Dopesick TV series in the UK

The first series of Dopesick was released on Disney+ on Friday, November 12, 2021. This means that UK viewers are able to watch the show from this streaming platform. A second series is yet to be confirmed.

Who is in the Dopesick TV cast?

The Dopesick cast is led by Michael Keaton who plays Dr Samuel Finnix, Will Poulter, who plays Billy Cutler and Kaitlyn Dever as Betsy Mallum. Other members of the cast include Michael Stuhlbarg who plays Richard Sackler, Peter Sarsgaard as Rick Mountcastle, John Hoogenakker as Randy Ramseyer and Rosaria Dawson, who plays Bridget Meyer.

The trailer of Dopesick focuses on main character Dr Samuel Finnix - played by Keaton - and the lives lost due to the crisis. The show has been described by its makers as an "ambitious, harrowing, and compelling look into the epicentre of America’s struggle with Opioid addiction". It is based on Beth Macy's book Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that Addicted America
