How To Watch The 2024 Emmys From Australia So You Don’t Miss Your TV & Streaming Faves Win Big

So, the 76th Emmy Awards are just around the corner, and if you’re an Aussie who wants to catch all the glitz and glamour, you’re in luck! It might feel like we just wrapped up the last award show, and that’s because we kind of did.

The 2023 Emmys were held in January after being postponed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. However, after a brat summer, the Olympics and multiple It Ends With Us scandals, Hollywood is back again to celebrate the best of television and streaming.

Here’s everything you need to know to ensure you don’t miss a moment of your favourite stars winning big or having iconic acceptance speech moments — a la The Bear‘s Matty Matheson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach make out sesh.

When are the 2024 Emmys?

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 8pm ET. For us in Australia, that translates to Monday, September 16, 2024, starting at 10am AEST.

So, set your alarms and convince your boss that you need a well deserved coffee break that will last three hours.

Forget about complicated VPNs or trying to convince your mate in the States to stream it for you. You can watch the Emmy Awards live on Foxtel or stream it on Binge.

Who is hosting the 2024 Emmys?

Get ready for a double dose of Canadian charm because Eugene and Dan Levy are taking the helm this year. That’s right, the father-son duo from Schitt’s Creek are making Emmy history as the first family tag team to host.

Expect some wholesome banter, surely a few eyebrow jokes, and hopefully no “Ew, David!” moments.

Who is nominated for an Emmy this year?

The competition is fierce this year, with Shōgun leading the pack with 25 nominations, followed closely by The Bear with 23 nominations.

Other heavyweights include Only Murders in the Building and The Crown, both of which have snagged a significant number of nods. And let’s not forget about our very own Naomi Watts, who is nominated for her role in Feud: Capote vs. the Swans

If you’re extra keen to place your bets on who will win big this year, you can check out the full list of nominations right here.

So, there you have it! Get ready for a morning filled with laughter, tears, and maybe even a few fashion faux pas if we’re lucky.

Just remember to keep your snacks close and your remote closer!
