The Arizona Cardinals’ 2022 NFL season begins today. This afternoon, they will take the field at State Farm Stadium to face the Kansas City Chiefs for the first time since 2018.
It will be the first time that head coach Kliff Kingsbury faces Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, whom he coached at Texas Tech. It is the first time Cardinals QB Kyler Murray faces the Chiefs, who have made the playoffs seven straight seasons and, in four seasons with Mahomes as starting quarterback, have won a championship, been to two Super Bowls and four AFC title games.
The Cardinals made the playoffs last season for the first time since 2015 but faltered badly down the stretch after a 10-2 start. They enter Week 1 with many questions about depth, as several players enter Week 1 with injuries.
