How to watch Queen Elizabeth's funeral on BBC, ITV and Channel 4

Today is the day of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

The 96 year old monarch died on September 8, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Since then, King Charles III has ascended to the throne and the nation have come together for a period of mourning as we remember the Queen's 70 year reign.

Many people, although not in London, will be wanting to watch the historic moment as Her Majesty is laid to rest. Broadcasters such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky News will be providing ample coverage meaning that people will be able to mourn the loss and say their final goodbyes from the comfort of their own homes.

How to watch the Queen's funeral on BBC

On the BBC, Huw Edwards, Kirsty Young, Fergal Keane, David Dimbleby and Sophie Raworth will be leading the coverage, broadcasting from across the UK. Huw and Fergal will be based in London, whilst Kirsty and David will be live from Windsor.

Sophie will be at Parliament Square whilst Anita Rani will share the day with viewers from the Long Walk at Windsor. JJ Chalmers will be at Wellington Barracks as they all come together to mark the historic day.

The special programme will air from 8am to 5pm on BBC One, BBC Two and iPlayer with BSL coverage on BBC Two.

How to watch the Queen's funeral on ITV

Tom Bradby and Julie Etchingham will host Queen Elizabeth II: The State Funeral. They will be joined by a number of special guests and royal experts for their reflections and analysis of this historic moment.

Mary Nightingale will lead coverage from Westminster Abbey, while Royal Editor Chris Ship will be in London and Windsor. Rageh Omaar will be with the armed forces at Wellington Barracks. Nina Hossain will be on the Long Walk in Windsor speaking to people paying their respects and Charlene White will be with mourners in London.

All of the day’s programming from 6am to midnight will be simulcast on all of ITV’s main channel and five digital channels and hub - the first time in its history ITV has done so.

How to watch the Queen's funeral on Channel 4

Channel 4 will not be broadcasting the funeral. Instead it will show 1953 documentary A Queen Is Crowned.

A Channel 4 spokesman said: "On the day Britain says farewell to its longest serving monarch, Channel 4 will be airing A Queen Is Crowned, the classic 1953 documentary about her coronation, so that viewers can experience both the beginning and end of her remarkable reign.

"Following the service, Channel 4 will also broadcast two extended editions of Channel 4 News as well as the 1943 Vera Lynn film, We’ll Meet Again."

Channel 4’s TV schedule for September 19 will also see the broadcaster observe the two-minute silence.
