Manchester United are not in action until Monday so Liverpool can move level on points with them and Chelsea with a win.

Victory would also take the Reds to within six points of third-placed Villa, as the race for a top-five finish hots up ahead of the run-in.

Liverpool head to the City Ground on the back of successive wins over Sunderland in the Premier League and then Brighton in the FA Cup.

But they face a tricky test on an afternoon when new Forest manager Vitor Pereira will take charge of his first home game since being appointed to replace Sean Dyche.

Pereira led Forest to impressive away win at Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday and Liverpool are set to be met by a hostile atmosphere.
